Many software are often not available in the official Ubuntu app repository which makes it hard to find convenient ways to download applications. Bleeding Edge is an open source shell script designed for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Ubuntu, allowing easy installation of repositories, keys, and software which are not available in the Ubuntu repository. You can also use Bleeding Edge to purge outdated packages from your system. You can use bleeding Edge to easily download important software and repositories like Getdeb, Dropbox, Flash Player, Acrobat Reader, Java, etc.
To Install BleedingEdge on Ubuntu/Linux Mint open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the relevant following commands in your Terminal:
- For Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric:
than go to Home Folder and Run the .sh file.
- wget -O bleedingedge-11_10 http://goo.gl/Vd8dJ
- chmod +x bleedingedge-11_10
- For Linux Mint 12 Lisa:
than go to Home Folder and Run the .sh file.
- wget -O bleedingedge-mint_12 http://goo.gl/JgdXH
- chmod +x bleedingedge-mint_12
- For Ubuntu 11.04 Natty:
than go to Home Folder and Run the .sh file.
- wget -O bleedingedge-11_04 http://goo.gl/eJL1f
- chmod +x bleedingedge-11_04
- For Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick:
than go to Home Folder and Run the .sh file.
- wget -O bleedingedge-10_10 http://goo.gl/JiTfV
- chmod +x bleedingedge-10_10
